Life Update – Big News

plain

So big news! Well big news and changes for my little family anyway.

First big news is that we are moving from London, England to Seattle, USA in the beginning of the new year. This wasn’t really planned, but a job opened up with my husbands company, and after talking about it we decided that it would be quite fun with a new adventure, so he applied for it and got it!

Though I will say that at the time we thought fun new adventure, further down the line it has shown to be so much more work than anticipated. Mainly because we weren’t completely done with the renovations on the house, so when we were finally done and ready to sell, there wasn’t a lot of time left for us to find a buyer. Turns out that it was to little time, plus not having chosen the best estate agent, we are now having to rent out our house, which opens up a whole different set of problems and things we need to look into. But I am sure once we are on the plane and all is sorted, it will be a great new adventure.

Second big news is….. WE ARE HAVING A BABY!!!!!! Our small family is now getting a new member in the shape of a little baby boy in the spring of 2016. We are both so happy and can’t wait to meet the little guy.

But it does obviously add to the stress of moving to a different country. Looking back on it the smart choice would probably have been to decline the job offer, but we actually found out that I was pregnant the same day that my husband got offered the job, so with no pregnancy symptoms or hormones flying around, it didn’t seem that big of a thing to have the baby in a different country.
Another thing was that we thought, that we would be moving earlier than logistics has now dictated, because my husband needed a course before starting the new job, which ended just before Christmas, meaning we will be arriving just around 2 months before the due date.

So yes, two very big changes are happening in the beginning of 2016 for our family. But we couldn’t be more happy and are really looking forward to the new adventures ahead, despite being complete bonkers and all.

Congratulations Mia! Moving to the USA is something I’ve always aspired to! Hope the move isn’t too stressful and that you have an easy pregnancy (With not to many symptoms like morning sickness!) 🙂 X
